General Inspector of the Armed Forces Marshal Edward Smigly-Rydz walks in front of groups of legionnaires attending the convention, accompanied by authorities, including: the Governor of Cracow Michał Gnoiński (to the left behind Smigly-Rydz, with a bowler hat in hand), the President of the Association of Polish Legionnaires Adam Koc (to the right behind the Marshal, wearing a bowler hat). In the back behind the marshal, his adjutant, Capt. Edward Mańkowski, is visible. Visible from the left, among others: commander of the Border Protection Corps, General Jan Kruszewski, Minister of Military Affairs, General Tadeusz Kasprzycki; in the background, General Bernard Mond. E. Smigly-Rydz (1866-1941) - marshal of Poland, Commander-in-Chief in the defensive war of 1939. Politician, graduated in philosophy at the Jagiellonian University and in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. On November 10, 1936, he was appointed Lieutenant General and Marshal of Poland.
