The 2nd Uhlan Regiment of the Polish Legions - a cavalry unit of the Polish Legions.
The first Polish cavalry units were formed in the Horse Troops of Lviv and Krakow's "Sokol" in the Austrian partition. Two horse units, the 2nd and 3rd cavalry squadrons of the Legions, were formed in Cracow. On October 1, 1914, the squadrons set out for Hungary, becoming tactically part of the 2nd Brigade of the Polish Legions. The manifesto of the two emperors, German and Austrian, on November 5, 1916, initiated a crisis in the ranks of the Legions. The lancer regiment refused to swear allegiance to the emperor and was disbanded on February 18, 1918. After the fall of Austria, it was reborn in Krakow on November 2, 1918 as the 2nd Lancer Regiment of the Polish Army. [after wikipedia.pl].
