Wladyslaw Anders (1892 - 1970) - Polish military officer and politician, major general of the Polish Armed Forces, commander of the Polish Army in the USSR and the 2nd Polish Corps. Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces, successor to the President of the Republic of Poland in exile in 1950-1954, in 1954 appointed by the authorities in exile as Lieutenant General.
Stanislaw Maczek (1892-1994) - Major General of the Polish Army, pioneer of Polish armored weapons, knight of the Order of the White Eagle, honorary citizen of the Netherlands, promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General by the President of the Polish Republic in exile on November 11, 1990.
