Biography
He lived in Warsaw until the end of the Warsaw Uprising. In 1945, he settled in Cracow and studied at the art history department of the Jagiellonian University. From an early age he was interested in photography and film. He worked as a photographer for Tygodnik Powszechny. At the age of 23 (in 1958) he was accepted as a member of the Krakow Group. Among other things, he participated in the Second and Third Exhibitions of Modern Art in Warsaw in 1957 and 1959. Since 1967 he has lived in Lund, Sweden. In 2008 there was a monographic exhibition of the artist in Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery exposing especially the surrealist theme of his work.
