Biography
Author of public projects, objects, films, installations and ephemeral actions and situations realized in urban space. They can be interpreted as contemporary, not devoid of irony, variations on the theme of community-based art, land art and the so-called relational aesthetics, which the artist breaks down into component parts, consistently using the tactic of "participatory observation." She studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the studio of Professor Jerzy Nowosielski in 1988-93, at the same time studying art history at Jagiellonian University in 1987-92. In 2007 she was awarded the Passport of "Polityka" for "extraordinary projects implemented in public space, for reaching out a hand towards the man wandering in the city" and the Grand Prize of the Polish Culture Foundation for lifetime achievement. She is the author of numerous works that have permanently entered the canon of the history of Polish contemporary art, including "Greetings from Jerozolimskie Avenue" (2002 - to this day) and "Dotleniacz" (2007).
