Jerzy Majek
Born in 1958 in Łuków. In 1984 he graduated from the Institute of Artistic Education at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. After graduation, he began his adventure with photography, which inspired abstract painting. In the 2000s, he returned to photography to express his painting visions through the lens. However, he did not cross the line between photography and computer graphics. The aim of his photography is to represent what is around us, but beyond us.
Jerzy Majek has participated in group exhibitions of drawing, painting, sculpture and photography in Łuków, Lublin, as well as in international photography exhibitions in Voisins-le-Bretonneux (France), Irwin (Scotland), Schenefeld (Germany). In 2018, at the 14th National Biennial of Teachers' Artistic Creativity in Lublin, he was awarded first prize in the photography category. In the same year, he presented his abstract frames at a solo exhibition in Krynica-Zdroj. He is also the co-author of the photo album "In 365 Days in Lukow" published in 2023.
