Biography
He was a versatile artist, known primarily as a celebrity fashionista. In the 1950s, he entered the world of fashion, very quickly gaining recognition as a hat designer. He collaborated with the greatest, including Chanel, Sonia Rykiel, Karl Laguerfeld, Kenzo, Gianni Versace, as well as creating unique headgear for cinema and theater. Mention can be made of hats for Romy Schneider in the films "The Banker" ("La Banquiere") and "The Old Gun" ("Le Vieux fusil"), Catherine Deneuve in the film "The Maids of Rochefort" ("Les Demoiselles de Rochefort"), or Sophia Loren in "Pret-a-Porter." His great passion was photography, to which he devoted as much time as to fashion. His greatest acclaim came from his portraits of artists, movie and stage stars. Staying often on film sets, he had the unique opportunity to portray such figures as Josephine Baker, Brigitte Bardot, Liz Taylor, Grace Kelly, Rita Hayworth, Sophia Marceau and many others.
