Portrayed portrayed in 3/4 figure, seated facing front. Photo pasted on original cardboard backing. On the lower margin of the backing print: "Rosenthal Photographe Rue de Noyon, 20 Amiens". On the back an advertising vignette of the establishment printed: "Photographie Artistique Rosenthal 20 Rue de Noyon, 20 Amiens". Above the vignette a coat of arms shield with the White Eagle and the Pogo of Lithuania, surmounted by a crown. Local stains, good condition overall.
P. Rosenthal (born May 27, 1815 in Grodno - died October 7, 1890 in Eu (Seine-Maritime) - Polish photographer active in Amiens, France. He emigrated to France in 1841. In the first half of the 1850s he worked in Corbie as a painter of daguerreotypes. He later moved to Amiens (Somme), where he ran his own atelier. Later, he and his son worked in the profession in Eu (Seine-Maritime), where he died.
