Portrait of the portraitist shown in bust, in costume from the period of national mourning with a cross on her chest. Printed on the lower margin of the backing: "Rue de Ponthieu 54, Paris." Photo pasted on original cardboard backing. On the back an advertising vignette of the establishment printed: "Photographie de Ponthieu Rue de Ponthien, 54 Paris" and a pencil inscription: "Pustowojtówna". Good condition. A. H. Pustowojtówna, owner Anna Henryka (1838-1881) - daughter of a tsarist general and a Polish woman. Educated at the Institute of Ladies in Pulawy. She participated in patriotic manifestations, as a result of which she was deported to Russia, from where she fled to Moldova. In the January Uprising she used the pseudonym Michał Smok. She was an aide-de-camp to Colonel Dionis Czachowski in the camp of General Marian Langiewicz. Arrested with Langiewicz on the Austrian border, she left for Prague after a short stay in prison. After a few months in Galicia, she emigrated and lived in Paris since 1866.
