The 2nd Aviation Regiment(2 plot) - an aviation unit of the Polish Army in the Second Republic. Formed by an order of the Minister of Military Affairs on July 20, 1921. Formation of the unit began on August 11 of that year. The unit was stationed in the garrison of Cracow, on the territory of the airport Rakowice Czyżyny. In 1922, a special photographic platoon was formed, headed temporarily by civil servant Stanislaw Meysenhalter from Lviv, the first and only specialist in aerial photography. Thanks to the appropriately selected ceiling (flight altitude) and the skill of the observer, the photos allow better recognition of strategic places from the air. They also have documentary qualities.
