J. Mieczkowski (1830-1889) - Warsaw photographer. One of the greatest and best photographers of the 19th century, competing with Karol Beyer, an itinerant daguerreotypist, an outstanding portraitist (he received an honorable mention at the 1862 London Universal Exhibition for his portraits). Awarded at numerous photographic salons in Europe and Asia. He opened his first establishment in 1847, and from 1861 the company was located at the corner of Senatorska and Miodowa Streets. In 1887 he took a photograph of Tytus Chałubiński and Helena Modrzejewska.
W. Rzewuski (1837-1888) - Cracow photographer, social activist, one of the pioneers of Polish photography. He studied at the Technical Institute in Cracow and from 1857-1858 at the Vienna Polytechnic. From 1859 he worked as a photographer, first outdoors, then in a studio in a rented room at 83 Grodzka St. In 1861 he opened an establishment at 6 Krupnicza St., then at 29 Kopernika St. Between 1864 and 1867 he put up a house at 27b Kolejowa St., where on November 1, 1867 he opened his renowned establishment with a modern laboratory atelier. Prominent citizen and councilor of the city of Cracow. Known for his ethnographic photography, landscapes of the Tatra Mountains, he created so-called "living pictures". Author of portraits, including insurgents of 1863 and the first album photos of actors.
K. Beyer (1818-1877) - one of the greatest individuals in the history of Polish photography. He was a collector, amateur scientist and patriotic activist in the period 1861-1863, which he paid with exile to Siberia, where, of course, he also took photographs. He opened his first business in 1844 as a daguerreotype studio, later turning it into a photographic atelier. In 1857 he moved to premises at 389 Krakowskie Przedmieście St., where he operated until around 1863. The main specialty of the establishment was portrait photography, especially appointment photography. He worked for public affairs by taking portraits of people taking part in political and social events, including a set of portraits of the so-called five fallen in the patriotic demonstration of 27 II 1861 in Warsaw's Krakowskie Przedmieście Street. He was a member of the City Delegation - a committee established to ensure public peace after that demonstration.
