The 4th Legion Infantry Regiment (4 pp Leg.) - an infantry unit of the Polish Army in the years 1918-1939. In the interwar period, the 4th Legion Infantry Regiment was stationed on the territory of Corps District No. X in the garrison of Kielce. It was part of the 2nd Infantry Division of the Legions. Based on the executive order of the Ministry of Military Affairs to the Infantry Department on the introduction of infantry organization on a peacetime basis PS 10-50 of 1930, three types of infantry regiments were introduced in the Polish Army. The 4th infantry regiment was classified as type I infantry regiments (the so-called "normal" ones). Each year it received about 610 recruits. The regiment's personnel was 56 officers and 1,500 non-commissioned officers and privates. In winter it had a senior battalion, a school battalion and a squadron, while in summer it had a senior battalion and two battalions of conscripts. After the new peacetime infantry organization was introduced in 1930, the regiment trained recruits for the Border Protection Corps battalion. In mid-March 1939, two NCOs and 68 privates under the command of Lt. Leon Pajak were sent to the Military Transit Depot at Westerplatte. They were trained cekaem sightseers, as well as mortar and anti-tank cannon operators. (Wikipedia).
