In 1963 Nikifor traveled by plane to Bulgaria with his mentor Marian Wlosinski. Before the trip, the Krynica painter's most important purchase was a pair of binoculars, through which he wanted to observe the earth from the plane - these binoculars can be seen lying on the table in the photograph shown (see "Nikifor was in Bulgaria", in "Przekrój", 20.10.1963, no. 967).
