Syncopation, in music, is a type of metro-rhythmic disturbance in the flow of a piece, used as a stylistic device; a rhythmic phenomenon involving the extension of a rhythmic value. Bartos Saro uses a technique drawn from the world of music to create synesthetic landscapes. The plasticity of his work is enhanced by his painting technique. The texture of the painting is vivid and highly sensual, created by covering the painting ground with sand. The accents in the painting are made using metallic pigments.
His work focuses on the structure of materials, preferring to work in a variety of media. Clearly displaying weight and movement, Bartos loves to create tension and drama, as he believes there is spirit in matter - shapes and forms can reflect the underlying experience of emotion.
Thick layers of raw, often cracked texture are enhanced and given unique beauty through additional drawing and lightly applied colors. One of his preferred materials is sand mixed with an acrylic binder.
He became an abstractionist. In his work, he focuses on the structure of materials, preferring to work in mixed techniques.
