Biography
Painter, graphic artist, cartoonist, illustrator, theatrical, film and television stage designer, actor, columnist, satirist, educator, professor at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, artistic director of the State Publishing Institute, first artistic director of Polish Television, co-creator of weekly magazines for children: "Przygoda" and "Świerszczyk", expert in theater, music, literature. Excellent illustrator of children's books. Friend and collaborator of Jan Brzechwa, whose books were full of Szancer's painterly imagination. He illustrated more than 240 books, including Tuwim, Krasicki, Mickiewicz, Fredro, Prussia, Sienkiewicz, Andersen, Collodi, Hoffman.
