He graduated from the Municipal Drawing School in Warsaw in 1917. In the same year he took up studies at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts. In 1921, he exhibited a Zachęta. He was, and always remained, a realist, and preferred landscape and old architecture above all else. During World War II, he ended up in Lithuania. He painted Lithuanian landscapes, manor houses and characteristic rural buildings. He was repeatedly decorated and awarded for his wartime merits, his professional work and, above all, for his several decades of creative work.
