Biography
She studied in Kharkiv. She then gained knowledge at the Drawing Class under Wojciech Gerson in Warsaw and at the Académie Julian in Paris. After returning to Warsaw, she studied in the studios of Miłosz Kotarbiński, Konrad Krzyżanowski and Kazimierz Stabrowski. Zofia Stankiewicz worked mainly in Warsaw. In the first years, she mainly painted landscapes and still life. With time, she devoted herself exclusively to graphics. In 1912 she co-founded the Society of Friends of Graphic Arts. Stankiewicz practiced metal techniques, lithography and linocut. She was twice awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. In 1933, the artist was awarded the Prize of the City of Warsaw.
