Biography
The artist studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow from 1890 to 1899. The prize for graduation- besides a gold medal- was a one-year scholarship to stay in Paris. Various poetics intertwined in the artist's paintings: realistic, expressionist and Art Nouveau-decorative. A constant feature of Weiss's work, however, was his inspiration by nature, whose deep knowledge lay at the heart of each of the works he painted.
