Władysław Chmieliński (born 1911 in Warsaw, died 1979 there) - Polish painter. Beginning in 1926, he studied for five years at the Municipal School of Decorative Arts and Painting, after graduating he created easel paintings using oil and watercolor techniques. Beginning in 1935, for three years he created a series of watercolors depicting Poland's most valuable architecture, and made trips to Sandomierz and Kazimierz Dolny, among other places. He also created a series of watercolors depicting the interiors of the Wilanów Palace and Warsaw's Royal Castle. In 1936 he began using the pseudonym Wladyslaw Stachowicz, but after three years he resigned and returned to signing paintings with his real name. After 1945 he created practically only oil paintings, from 1958 to 1962 he painted views of Warsaw. In 1962, Władysław Chmieliński's work included horse scenes against a landscape background, in 1967-1969 he stayed in Denmark, and after 1969 he returned to immortalizing images of the capital.
