Theodor GOSEN VON (1873-1943).
German sculptor and medalist. From 1892?1899 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 1905 he took over the decorative sculpture class at the Academy of Fine Arts in Breslau and headed it until the academy's liquidation in 1932. In 1908 he was a co-founder of the Silesian Artists' Association and served as its president until 1932. Influenced by the sculptor A. von Hildebrandt, he paid homage to classical and Renaissance models. In addition to monumental works, he was also involved in portrait sculpture and medals. He was buried on the island of Fraueninsel on Lake Chiemsee next to his painter friend Johann Drobek.
