Tadeusz Nartowski initially studied drawing with Feliks Slupski in Warsaw, and then studied at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts under K. Stabrowski, F.Ruszczyc and K. Krzyżanowski. During the interwar period he lived permanently in Warsaw, from where he traveled to Italy, France, Germany, England, Spain, Yugoslavia, Hungary and Morocco. In 1921-25 he taught at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1912 he regularly exhibited at the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts where he was awarded a bronze and gold medal in 1927 and 1933. He also exhibited at Warsaw's Garlinski Salon, as well as in Lublin, Krakow and Gdynia, and in 1935 in Berlin. After World War II, he lived in Szczecin. He was an accomplished watercolorist; he painted still lifes and portraits, and above all landscapes and architecture - both from the country and from his many travels.
