Stefan Domaradzki (1897 - 1983) - landscape painter; spent his childhood and early youth in Russia. From 1912 to 1914, he and his parents lived in the south of France, where he studied in the private studios of French painters and where he first showed his works at an exhibition (Cannes 1914). He was also educated in Moscow; initially at the private school of Stanislav Zhukovsky (active from 1907-1917), and in 1918 he began studying at the Moscow School of Fine Arts in the studio of Professor S. Malutin. He came to Poland in 1921 and a year later took up studies at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts under Professor K. Tiche. He exhibited in France and in Moscow (1920), and from 1924 regularly participated in exhibitions of the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in 1935 receiving a silver medal at the jubilee Encouragement Salon. In 1939, he participated in an exhibition of contemporary art at the Gallery of Science Art in New York. After World War II, he lived in France and later in the United States. He painted primarily atmospheric landscapes, in which, in addition to the inspiration of French painting, the influence of the artist's teacher, Stanislaw Zhukowski, can be felt. He also painted urban views - of Warsaw or Paris - and showed a larger group of these works, including at an exhibition at Warsaw's Zachęta in 1929. In 1939 he participated in an exhibition of contemporary art at the "Gallery of Science Art" in New York.
