From 1883 to 1885 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow with W. Łuszczkiewicz and F. Cynk. He continued his studies from 1885-1887 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under C. Griepenkerrkel and S. L`Allemand, and from 1887-1889 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under A. Liezen-Mayer. He traveled to Paris, Italy, Spain, Morocco, the Crimea and the USA. In 1903-1914 in Lviv he had his own school of painting. The subjects of his works were mainly battle scenes, as well as landscapes, portraits and historical scenes. He also did mural painting and designed stained glass windows. He has exhibited at TPSP in Cracow, TZSP in Warsaw and in Chicago, Berlin and Kiev, among other places. His works can be seen at the National Museum in Warsaw, Poznań and Cracow, among others.
