He was a student of Jacek Malczewski and Jan Stanislawski at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow (1899-1900). He continued his studies at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Munich and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He was a lover of Tatra landscapes, which he most often immortalized on his canvases. He belonged to the Society "Art of Podhale" and was also a teacher at the Vocational School of Wood Industry in Zakopane.
