oil, plywood, dimensions 32 x 46 cm, signed l. d. "Stanislaw Czajkowski"
Work by the prominent landscape painter and author of genre scenes Stanislaw Czajkowski (1878 - 1954), associated with Krakow and Warsaw, a student of Wojciech Gerson, but also of Jozef Mehoffer, Leon Wyczolkowski and Jan Stanislawski, whose undoubted influences are visible in his work. He deepened his studies at the Munich Academy and the Academie Julien in Paris. A proponent of going outdoors and painting from nature, he portrays its beauty in a light and spontaneous way. In numerous rural scenes he shows the life of the countryside, its inhabitants at their daily activities - always surrounded by the landscape, which is the main subject of the work.
