New Year's wishes.

Two figures in folk costumes supporting a ribbon with the inscription "New Year's Wishes" (possibly a design for a postal card or occasional telegram). Slight abrasions and some dirt. On the back the stamp of Jan Sas Zubrzycki.
Adam Setkowicz (1876 - 1945), popular painter of genre scenes with carriages, hunting, sleighs and snow, painted in watercolor or oil, in which he clearly referred to the works of A. Wierusz-Kowalski, J. Brandt or J. Fałat. However, little is known about the artist's life other than that in 1891-1894 he was educated at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow, where in 1897/1898 he continued his studies under Teodor Axentowicz. In 1933 he took part in an exhibition in Piotrkow Trybunalski, Poland. (Agraart).
