On the back on the stretcher in the corners on the left side stamps with numbers referring to the size of the sub-painting: 100 and 74.
Robert Alott (Graz 1850 - Vienna 1910) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1868 to 1873. As a painter of genre landscapes and urban and historical motifs, he worked mainly in Austria and Italy. He also traveled to Belgium and North Africa, especially Tunisia. He exhibited in Budapest, Munich, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Paris.
