Work description:
Nikifor was associated with Krynica-Zdrój for most of his life. This revered spa and resort became his home and source of countless inspirations. The artist liked to depict Krynica's villas and guesthouses in his works.
The featured painting depicts the eponymous building with bright facades and contrasting window frames. Behind the house stretches a vast upland landscape, whose green hills give the whole an atmosphere of idyll and tranquility, further enhanced by the bright and cloudless sky. Using simple formal means, Nikifor has created a unique composition that incorporates many elements characteristic of the artist's work, including an avenue of trees or a landscape in the distance rhythmically shaped by line and color.
