Biography
A representative of the romantic painting trend of the "Vilnius school". He studied under J. Malczewski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Vilnius University. He lived in Vilnius, where he taught at the School of Drawing and Painting and the School of Arts and Crafts.He took part in many national exhibitions, in European shows of Polish art organized by TOSSPO, and in international art exhibitions in the USA organized by the Carnegie Institute. He painted urban views and poetic, phenomenal, symbolic landscapes with peculiarly stylized forms taken from nature.
