Artwork description:
Marian Mokwa is one of the most respected Polish marine artists.
The presented work is kept in light tones, which, combined with the impressionistic way of painting, influences the impressionistic character of the whole. Marian Mokwa used an interesting composition here, dividing the pictorial field into three distinct parts: the beach, the calm sea and the blue sky. In this way of depicting the seaside, the artistry of the artist, who painted the entire representation using subtle, almost monochromatic brushstrokes, becomes even more evident.
The painting is part of an extensive series of marine views of this type and is a representative example of Marian Mokwa's marine art.
Marian Mokwa's biography is available on the Krakow Auction House website [SEE].
