Maria Rubczak (1883-1955) Wife of Jan Rubczak. From about 1910-11 she resided in Paris where she exhibited under the pseudonym Guy Bertin. She took part in Paris exhibitions: the Salon des Independents (1914 and 1920), Société France-Pologne (1920), Grand Palais (1921), Musée Crillon (1922). She belonged to the TAP in Paris, established in 1911. She belonged to the Association of Polish Painters and Sculptors in France, founded in 1922. She was mainly interested in painting genre subjects. In 1922, it was written about her works: "fond of the naive amateurism of the tax collector Rousseau". Maria Rubczak probably returned to Poland only after World War II. Her works appeared in exhibitions at the National Museum in Warsaw (1946) and the Society of Friends of Fine Arts (1947).
