Maria NASSON (NASSAU) FROMOWICZ

She studied (as one of the first women) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1919-20 in the studio of Wojciech Weiss. In 1926 she was in Rome, where an exhibition of her 26 works was held. She also exhibited in Cracow (1927) and took part in the Exhibition of Jewish Art in the halls of the Jewish Academic House in Cracow (1930). During the war she did not create. Later she settled in Milan, where she renewed her artistic activity. She exhibited, taught painting, translated texts and wrote. For a dozen years in Milan she belonged to the Societá per le Belle Arti ed Esposizione Permanente (she participated in exhibitions from 1954 to 1969). She painted landscapes, still lifes and portrait studies.
