Ludwik GĘDŁEK

Painter; began his artistic studies at the Cracow School of Fine Arts under W. Luszczkiewicz and continued them from 1872 to 1877 at the Vienna Academy under E. Lichtenfels and C. Wurzinger. As early as 1863, he made his debut at an exhibition at the TPSP in Cracow, where he later exhibited many times. He lived permanently in Vienna, from where he also sent paintings for exhibitions to TPSP in Lvov, the Krywult Salon in Warsaw and Dresden. He painted landscapes, mainly from the vicinity of Cracow, genre and battle scenes with a frequent motif of horses.
