Ludwik GĘDŁEK

Painter; began his artistic studies at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow under W. Luszczkiewicz and continued them from 1872 to 1877 at the Vienna Academy under E. Lichtenfels and C. Wurzinger. As early as 1863, he made his debut at an exhibition at the TPSP in Cracow, where he later exhibited many times. He lived permanently in Vienna, from where he also sent paintings for exhibitions to TPSP in Lvov, the Krywult Salon in Warsaw and Dresden. He painted landscapes, mainly from the vicinity of Cracow, genre and battle scenes with a frequent motif of horses. His paintings are in the National Museum in Warsaw, the Lviv Picture Gallery and the Polish Museum in Chicago, among others. Categories: Available, Auction catalog, Oil painting
