Biography
Studied painting under Władysław Łuszczkiewicz in 1861-72 at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow. In 1873, he received a two-year scholarship to study abroad in Vienna with Eduard Peithner Lichtenfels and Carl Würzinger (until 1877) He exhibited a lot - in Cracow in 1863-88, at the TPSP in Lvov (1892) and at the Krywult Salon in Warsaw, as well as in Dresden in 1882-90. His paintings can be found in Chicago, Stockholm, Chemnitz, Paris and at the Lvov Picture Gallery, among others. He painted landscapes, usually of the suburbs near Krakow, battle and genre scenes, in which he often placed silhouettes of horses and riders. The Cossack population repeatedly appears in his works.
