Kochanowski Roman (1857-1945), painter. He took his first painting lessons from M. Cercha, then studied at the Krak. SSP (with W. Łuszczkiewicz). He also studied at the Vienna Academy. From 1881 he lived in Munich, Fürstenfeldenbrück and Freising. He painted mainly lyrical landscapes, covered with a characteristic silvery haze and enriched with small figures of staffage - at first from the Podkrak region, then from Bavaria. They brought him great popularity (especially in Munich). They were bought, among others, by Emperor Franz Joseph (Autumn, 1892). K. was a member of the Munich Kunstverein and the Union Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He made illustrations for the album Die Österreichisch-Ungarische Monarchie im Wort und Bild (volume Galizien, 1898).
