Biography
Between 1903 and 1908 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Florian Cynk, Leon Wyczółkowski, Teodor Axentowicz and Jozef Pankiewicz. From 1914 he served in the 2nd regiment of uhlans of the 2nd Brigade of the Polish Legions with the rank of chevalier; he took part in the charge at Rokitna (1915). Interned, he later found himself on the Italian front.The painter was awarded the Order of Virtuti Militari and the Cross of Valor. He took part in Legion exhibitions (1917), later exhibited at the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts and the Institute of Art Propaganda in Warsaw.
