Attached to the work is an expert's report by Elżbieta Charazińska, dated 1.12.2013.

Impressionist passionate about color to such an extent that he initiated a distinct trend in Polish painting of the 1920s and 1930s. Pankiewicz used the language of color extremely suggestively, he was able to combine color ranges, bring out their depth, which resulted in the impression of spatiality and expressiveness of the captured patches of light and shadow. "View from Sanara" can be counted as one of the artist's flagship works from this period. The juicy landscape with spreading trees shading a country road is among the painter's postcards from the French village of Sanary-sur-Mer. The artist traveled to France for the first time in 1889, going on plein air trips to Saint Tropez or Cassis many times thereafter. He was fond of depicting the landscapes of southern France or Provence in his paintings. He spent springs and summers in Sanary between 1923 and 1926. The offered work is dated 1929. During this time he also spent time in the open air. Direct contact with Mediterranean nature inspired the artist's creative work.
