These two panoramic views depict the warmth of a sunset in a seaside sky with ships anchored on the shore, achieved with a golden palette. Puttner, Franz Josef's court painter, managed to capture exquisitely the gentle sunset light of the port city, as well as the daily life of the local residents as they stroll along the coast. A pair of spectators, or tourists, aims to lead our gaze to the horizon of the sea.
