Johannes HILVERDINK [Groningen 1813-1902 Amsterdam].
Painter of landscapes and marinas. A pupil of J.A. Daiwaille and J.W. Pieneman at the Amsterdam Academy of Fine Arts. He traveled to Germany, Belgium. He visited the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, eventually settling permanently in Amsterdam. His drawings are in the Teyler Museum in Haarlem. His son and also his pupil was Eduard Alexander (landscape painter) .
