In his work, Jerzy Kossak readily drew on the motifs in which his father, Wojciech, specialized. And so Jerzy painted several times scenes from the Battle of the Pyramids, that is, the clash between Napoleon's army and the Mamelukes in Egypt in 1798, modeling himself on fragments of the monumental panorama painted in 1900 by Wojciech Kossak and Michal Gorstkin-Wywiórski.
