Son of baker Jan Burdzinski and Anna Maklowicz He attended elementary school in Bohorodczany. In 1900 he began his education at the gymnasium in Kolomyia. Later he stayed in Pokucie, where he was engaged in folklore and collecting antique objects. At the same time, he painted. In 1911, he moved to Krakow, where he was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts. He studied with Stanislaw Debicki. in 1914 he received a scholarship to go to Paris. Because of the war, he remained in Cracow, where he ran a private school of painting. In 1918 he took a position as a teacher of drawing in two middle schools in Wloclawek. In 1920 he was appointed librarian and custodian of the Library and Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. In 1923, he began lecturing and practicing Painting Technology and Techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1934, he changed his name to Hoplinski. In 1935, he was habilitated as a docent of Painting Technology and Techniques. In 1948, he was appointed associate professor at the Academy of Fine Arts.
