Between 1892 and 1897 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow with I. Jabłoński, W. Łuszczkiewicz, L. Wyczółkowski and J. Stanisławski. He continued his studies in Vienna and at the private school of A. Ażbe in Munich. He traveled extensively and was in Rome, Palestine, Egypt and the Crimea, among other places. In 1912 he became a professor at the Free Academy of Arts in Lviv. The subjects of his works were mainly landscapes and portraits.
