Adam Hoffmann (1918-2001) illustrator, painter. He began his studies in 1938, continued during the occupation at the Kunstgewerbeschule, and in 1945-48 at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts (under W. Jarocki, E. Eibisch and K. Srzednicki). He was a peer of the artists of the Cracow Group, and was friends with Jerzy Nowosielski and Jerzy Skarżyński, but as an artist he remained in opposition to the avant-garde of painting. He created his own individual world.
