Hermann Kaufmann Jr. (Munich1873-1953)
Munich artist, son of the famous painter of the same name - Hermann Kaufmann . After graduating from the School of Crafts (Gewerbeschule) and a private painting school, he made a study trip to Italy. He settled in Hamburg and then returned to Munich. Until the end of the 19th century, he was mainly engaged in portrait painting. At the turn of the century, his works were very often exhibited in Munich and Hamburg at prestigious exhibitions (including the Glass Palace). In 1905 he participated in the Great Art Exhibition in Berlin. He often took up oriental themes. His works are characterized by classical composition and refined, academic fini.
