Giuseppe Galli (Vercelli 1866 - Milan 1953) initially studied painting in his hometown with Ferdinando Rossaro, then attended the Albertina Academy in Turin, where he studied with Carlo Felice Biscarra. His difficult living situation forced him to work for a living. Happily, he never gave up painting and in fact in 1917 he won the title of honorary member of the Brera Academy for his outstanding achievements in watercolor. That same year, his large watercolor Frivolita settecentesche was purchased by the Milanese authorities for the Galleria d'Arte Moderna. Since 1920, the artist devoted himself entirely to painting, including oil painting.
