Franciszek Łubieński (Lodz 1874 or 1875 - Warsaw 1925) - painter. Studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow (1893-1896 and 1899-1900) under Józef Unierzyski and Jacek Malczewski. He then went to Munich, where he studied at the school of Anton Ažbe. Upon his return, he settled in Lodz, where he became a teacher at the Commercial School of Lodz Merchants and at local middle schools.
He created landscapes, for which he was highly regarded, folk types, portraits, still lifes, nudes, genre, historical and literature-inspired scenes, and flowers, which were his favorite motif. Around 1912 he created the series From the Sieradz Land, depicting folk types and customs. From 1903 he exhibited (including at Warsaw's Zachęta in 1910/1911), and in 1923 his solo exhibition was held at the Museum of Science and Art in Lodz. Two months after his death, his friends organized an exhibition of his works at the Municipal Art Gallery in Lodz. It showed 250 works, 45 of which were later exhibited at Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery. His paintings are in the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw, among others.
