The painting was given to the family of the current owners directly by Franciszek Moll.

The painter was associated with the artistic community of Bochnia, where he had his first encounter with painting in the studio of Ludwik Stasiak. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. His works are valued for their thorough mastery of technique, vivid colors, variety of formal solutions, accuracy of portraiture. He was also involved in stage design. Working with the Municipal Theater in Jelenia Gora, he completed 34 scenographic projects. He painted landscapes, portraits and still lifes.
