Florentine painter specializing in painting the interiors of Florence's Palazzo Pitti. He did so with unparalleled mastery.
The Hall of Saturn was built in the second half of the 16th century, commissioned by Duke Francesco I de Medici. It is one of the most beautiful examples of Renaissance interior decoration The chamber was decorated with frescoes depicting mythological scenes associated with Saturn. On the walls are exhibited outstanding paintings from the Medici collection. Among others, works by Raphael and Titian, visible in the painting. An adjacent room, visible through the doorway, is dedicated to Jupiter.
