State of preservation: cardboard slats glued secondarily to the upper and lower edges of the board.
Painter, student of the Munich academy and the Académie Julian in Paris. After 1900 he settled in Rome and in 1907 moved to Lviv. In addition to easel painting, he was involved in stage design and designed stained glass windows. Among his frequent landscape subjects, maritime motifs, views of Rome's Campania and Capri occupy a large part. Genre subjects include Arab scenes, Neapolitan fishermen, exotic beauties. The artist has perfectly mastered the pastel technique, his works are characterized by soft modeling and warm, saturated colors.
